Join a high-impact federal operations team supporting mission-critical energy and infrastructure functions. The Secretary III provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), specifically supporting the Electric Power Training Center (EPTC) and related program offices.
This role is responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day administrative operations, supporting training programs, maintaining records and systems, and handling sensitive information in compliance with federal standards and procedures.

- Provide comprehensive administrative support services to ensure efficient operations across EPTC and WAPA program areas
- Perform typing, copying, scanning, filing, and document preparation
- Maintain office calendars, files, publications, and administrative systems
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, telephone, and communications support
- Provide guidance and support to trainees, customers, and stakeholders regarding training programs and course selection
- Assist users with registration processes, EPTC website navigation, and LMS systems
- Respond to training-related inquiries and distribute course materials, schedules, and logistical information
- Act as a help desk for training-related systems and resources
- Prepare and set up training rooms prior to sessions and perform post-training cleanup
- Prepare instructional materials, sign-in sheets, and classroom resources
- Assist with ordering and managing training materials, textbooks, and supplies
- Maintain craft training files and documentation
- Maintain EPTC Registration Systems, Learning Management Systems (LMS), HR systems, and SharePoint sites
- Update and maintain EPTC website content, training materials, and program documents
- Compile and report weekly updates (e.g., A7820 strategic activities reporting)
- Ensure data accuracy, system integrity, and long-term sustainability of records
- Maintain department files, records systems, and document repositories
- Support records retention, filing standards, naming conventions, and SOP development
- Ensure all documentation is properly filed, tracked, and accessible
- Protect and manage sensitive records in compliance with federal guidelines
- Handle and safeguard sensitive information, including:
- Ensure compliance with WAPA policies, federal regulations, and standard commercial practices

- Privacy Act data
- Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
- Other sensitive or protected information

Qualifications
Required- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2–4 years of relevant administrative or clerical experience
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Office Management, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
- Experience supporting WAPA, DOE, or similar federal agencies
- Familiarity with Concur, ATAAPS, SharePoint, or similar systems
- Experience with records management and document control processes
- Knowledge of federal security and compliance environments
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (Secret / Top Secret / Public Trust)
- Employment is contingent upon successful background investigation and PIV card issuance
