Special Education Teacher (Early Intervention) with Security Clearance

Substitute Special Education Teacher (Early Intervention) This role is dedicated to early intervention, ensuring that developmental delays and special needs are addressed during the most critical years of a child's growth. You will play a key role in fostering a safe, inclusive environment where every child can leverage their strengths to meet their individual goals.
Position Details * Hours: Flexible start times (8:00 AM - 9:00 AM) with a typical end time around 3:00 PM.
  • Student Population:
  • Preschool
-age children (3-5 years old) within an Early Intervention setting.
  • Interview Process: Initial screening with Jake or Audrey, followed by a formal interview (virtual or in-person) with the school administration.
Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Delivery: Provide high-quality, differentiated instruction aligned with IEP goals and curriculum standards in the absence of the lead teacher.
  • Collaborative Support:
  • Work closely with paraprofessionals, special education staff, and related service providers to maintain continuity of care and support.
  • Behavioral Leadership: Implement effective behavior management strategies and support students in both academic and functional life skills.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress, daily attendance, and classroom activities.
  • Safety & Culture: Uphold school policies to promote a respectful, safe, and positive classroom culture.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Certification:
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education ( PDE ) Type 06 Permit (Day
-to-Day) or ideally a Type 04 Permit (Long-Term Substitute).
  • Experience: Prior teaching experience in special education or inclusive classrooms is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of IEP accommodations, modifications, and classroom management.
Compliance & Clearances Candidates must possess (or be willing to obtain) the following
  • PA State Clearances: PA Child Abuse Clearance , PA Criminal History Check , and FBI Fingerprints .
  • Health & Safety: Valid CPR/First Aid (with hands-on component) and a TB Test (within 3 months). * Training & Reports: Mandated Reporter Training, Act 82 Arrest/Conviction Form, and completed Act 168 Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Releases. #education
