JB068 - Full-Time Executive Housekeeper/Cook- Upper East Side, NY

Overview:

A warm and busy household in Upper East Side is seeking an experienced Housekeeper/Cook for a live-out position. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. The home already has a separate cleaning professional who handles heavy cleaning on Mondays, so this role is focused on maintaining cleanliness the rest of the week rather than deep cleaning.

The family prioritizes healthy, home cooked food and is open to guiding the right candidate on their preferences if needed. The household employer is Brazilian, and familiarity with or openness to that cultural context is helpful for the role.

Responsibilities:

• Light and maintenance housekeeping throughout the week (not deep cleaning)
• Preparing breakfast daily
• Preparing a lunch once a week (or when necessary) for the family
• Cooking healthy meals, or willingness to learn the family’s preferred healthy cooking style
• General tidying and upkeep to keep the home comfortable between the heavy cleaning days

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable maintaining a home without needing heavy cleaning duties. They have some cooking experience or are eager to learn a healthy, family-style approach to meals, and are comfortable adapting to the household’s cultural preferences and routines.

Requirements:

• Prior housekeeping and/or cooking experience in a private home
• Comfortable preparing healthy meals or willing to learn
• Portuguese speaking, a plus
• Strong verifiable references
• Legal to work in the US

Salary and Benefits:

• $40 to $45 per hour
• PTO and sick days included
