Cardiac Stepdown RN Travel Nurse opportunity in Roanoke Rapids, NC — 13-week contract in a Medical Step Down/Telemetry unit. Job Details- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,860 – $1,960 (Competitive travel nurse pay for Cardiac/Telemetry RN)
- Location: Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina (Zip: 27870) — North Carolina travel nursing job
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 30, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 3 shifts per week, 36 hours/week
- Unit: Medical Step Down Unit (Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry) — Cardiac Telemetry RN role
- Flexible scheduling: Self-scheduling options based on unit and manager needs
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, Telemetry, or progressive care nursing
- Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State (state-specific travel RN eligibility)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong IV insertion skills and experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry
- Must pass Relias exams (2 attempts allowed)
- 80-mile radius rule applies
- Dress code: black scrubs, white scrubs, or a combination
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients with cardiac and medical diagnoses, including MI, CHF, CVA/stroke, HTN, COPD, GI bleed, respiratory failure, diabetes, and renal failure
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and titrate vasoactive drips (e.g., Nitro, Cardene, Cardizem) per protocol
- Perform and assist with procedures such as chest tube care, central line care/insert assistance, HD tunneled catheter management, and thoracentesis
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including charge nurses, LPNs, CNAs, physicians, and allied health staff
- Float to ED, Med Surg, and ICU as needed — flexible stepdown/critical care support
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to unit protocols and quality standards
