These projects typically range from $50M to $200M+. The company emphasizes a hands-on approach throughout all project phases, from pre-construction planning to final execution.

Its reputation is built on strong relationships with developers, architects, and subcontractors, ensuring streamlined communication and timely delivery across a variety of complex builds. They are currently building multiple large-scale multifamily projects in the Arlington/Alexandria area and looking to bring on an experienced Assistant Project Manager for those projects.

Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager - Large-Scale Multifamily - Alexandria/Arlington will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects
  • Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including schedules, budgets, contracts, and reports
  • Communicating with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and clients to ensure timely project progress
  • Conducting site visits to monitor work progress, quality, safety, and compliance with specifications
  • Managing and tracking project budgets, expenses, and financial reports
  • Coordinating the procurement and delivery of materials, tools, and equipment
  • Maintaining and updating project schedules using project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project)
  • Organizing and participating in project meetings, and following up on action items
  • Assisting with change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittal processes
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies
  • Documenting project milestones, progress updates, and daily reports
  • Supporting the superintendent and field teams in resolving on-site issues
  • Performing administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and document control

The Successful Applicant

The Assistant Project Manager - Large-Scale Multifamily - Alexandria/Arlington will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction project coordination or project management
  • Strong knowledge of new construction practices, methods, and sequencing
  • Experience supporting multifamily residential projects (preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and architectural/engineering drawings
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or similar tools
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with field staff, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced construction environment
  • Working knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed
  • A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required)
