Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of home health experience for a travel contract serving patients across the Hawaiian islands, including Maui, Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island.
Details- Home health setting serving a predominantly geriatric patient population (kupuna) across the island of Maui
- Occasional floating to cover Oahu, Kauai, and/or Big Island, with all travel expenses paid
- Patient population includes neurological, orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, and cognitive conditions such as post-stroke, Parkinson's disease, dementia/Alzheimer's, total hip/knee replacement, post-op spinal surgery, COPD, CHF, and PVD
- Productivity requirement of 25 units per week
- Documentation via MatrixCare
- Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Current PT license in Hawaii required; license pending will be considered if application is in progress at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of home health experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Proficiency with OASIS documentation, plan of care, and reassessments required
- Experience with geriatric, neurological, and orthopedic patient populations required
- Skills required include gait training, adaptive/assistive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, vital signs, pain assessment, skin integrity, body mechanics, and identification of environmental barriers
- Experience with home exercise program development and patient/family education required
- Knowledge of signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse required
- Responsibilities include evaluation, goal-setting (short- and long-term), plan of care development, reassessments, and discharge planning
- Preferred skills include wound care, lymphedema management, acute care, MS, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injury, TBI, and neurodevelopmental technique (NDT)
- Scrubs in any color and closed-toed shoes required
