Compassionate and skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Harvey, Illinois. Join a dynamic float pool team supporting adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced acute care setting near Chicago Southland.
Job Details- Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Location: Harvey, IL
- Setting: Float Pool / Medical Surgical / Acute Care
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 7, 2026
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Shift Duration: 12 Hour Nights
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,470 - $1,550
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; floating required
- Charting System: Epic
- Population Served: Adults and geriatrics
- Active Illinois RN license in hand
- 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS required
- NIHSS preferred
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Telemetry experience strongly preferred
- Tracheostomy care and management experience required
- Experience with Epic charting preferred
- Ability to work every other weekend and float as needed
- Reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable caring for a 1:6 patient ratio
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions accurately in Epic
- Manage telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to rhythm changes
- Perform tracheostomy care and support airway management needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient recovery
- Float to appropriate units based on patient care needs
- Deliver safe, timely, and compassionate bedside care throughout the shift
- Maintain professionalism, adaptability, and strong communication in a fast-paced healthcare environment
