About the Role

The Senior Technician provides guidance, oversight, and quality control for civil design packages supporting secure, resilient federal facilities.

• Serve as a Senior Technician, design specialist, and/or supervisor for civil site development work.
• Apply advanced civil engineering design principles to grading, utilities, site layout, and plan production.
• Create and modify drawings, models, and technical documentation using CAD/BIM/3D tools.
• Establish and maintain design and graphic standards across project teams.
• Review project inputs and deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with codes/standards.
• Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to technicians and engineering staff.
• Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, and documentation.
• Support quality control, process improvement, and changemanagement initiatives.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary design groups to support design development.
• May support field activities, presentations, or specialized technical assignments.

• Minimum 11 years of related civil engineering technician experience.
• Advanced Autodesk Civil 3D proficiency (grading, surfaces, utilities, plan & profile).
• Strong understanding of civil design standards, codes, and documentation practices.
• Ability to interpret design inputs and exercise sound judgment on complex technical tasks.
• Experience guiding or overseeing other technicians.
• Strong communication and coordination skills across design teams.

• Required: Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Designrelated Technology
• Preferred: Bachelors Degree in an Engineering Designrelated Technology
