First Class Outside Machinist
ATSS has openings for First Class Outside Machinists at our clients Pascagoula, MS facility.
Must haves:
Be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Be able to read/write/communicate in English
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a minimum of 4 or more years of experience as an outside machinist.
Preferred Design Disciplines:
Prior Shipyard experience a minimum of 4 or more years of experience as an outside machinist.
Job Description:
Installs, aligns, and repairs ship machinery such as propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, steering gear, laundry and galley equipment, working from blueprints and using hand tools, calipers and micrometers. lays out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connection such as shafting and steam lines.Align reduction gears, bearing, shafting, propellers, and rudder and steering engine assemblies.
A Plus if you have experience with Operating lathes, milling machines, drill press, surface grinding, blueprint reading, must be able to machine threads and cut tapered shafts
NOTE:
Please be advised that any candidates who proceed will be required to travel to Pascagoula, MS to do a skills test and/or interview, Hair Follicle Test, and Respirator Fit Test. You will also be required to pass a background check with no violent felonies.

- Duration: Initially 1 year
- Base Pay Range: $40.00 per hour, depending on level of experience
- Per Diem- $147.04 daily for those who are 75+ miles away and can provide a recent utility bill.
