Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment at a highly respected acute care hospital in Maryland. This position offers the opportunity to care for a diverse adult and geriatric patient population on a mixed Med Surg/Telemetry unit while working alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team.
The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry skills, excellent clinical judgment, and experience managing a variety of medical-surgical conditions in a fast-paced hospital environment.

- Beds: 24
- Average Daily Census: 18
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack)
- COPD and other respiratory conditions
- Urology patients
- Gynecological patients
- Cellulitis and wound care
- Palliative care
- Infectious diseases
- Gastrointestinal conditions
- Early post-operative recovery patients
- Observation patients (greater than 24 hours)
- TR band monitoring following cardiac catheterization without intervention
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process
- Monitor telemetry and recognize/report cardiac rhythm changes
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Perform focused patient assessments and document findings
- Monitor vital signs and evaluate changes in patient condition
- Review and interpret diagnostic testing and laboratory results
- Communicate patient status changes promptly to providers
- Maintain accurate and timely medical record documentation
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and cardiac health
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with patient safety and quality standards
- Active Maryland RN License
- Current BLS Certification
- Minimum 1 year of Telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Strong Med Surg and telemetry monitoring experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to float within specialty and affiliated facilities as needed
- Night Shift: 8:00 PM - 8:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as scheduled
- Floating required within specialty and affiliated facilities
- On-call not required
- 13-week travel contract
