OurSchool Philosophy
Our program is designed to allowchildren to flourish as they interact with both their indoor and
outdoor physical and social environments. Our curriculum is intentional,progressive and dynamic and responds to the interests and creativity of boththe children and the staff. We celebrate many perspectives and integrate aJewish expression of values into learning.
KeyResponsibilities
General- Attendto children's physical and emotional safety by providing care, protection,consistency, and guidance to the children
- Bewith children joyfully and treat them as competent learners and individuals
- Attendto classroom management, including flow of the day, group dynamics, andconflict resolution
- Developrelationships with families and colleagues through frequent communication andupdates
- Identifyyour professional path and create goals for growth
- Attendschool wide and class events such as picnics, parties, parent meetings, andother special programs, including JCC community wide events
- Maintain children'sattendance and injury records
- Supportchildren's play, engage in reflection and discussion about children's growthand learning, and be responsive to children's developmental milestones
- Nurturephysical, spiritual, emotional, social, and intellectual growth and developmentof each child
- Documentchildren's play and learning, including portfolios, learning stories, hallwayor classroom displays, and written and verbal parent communication
- Providea cheerful, nurturing, healthy, safe and clean classroom environment
- Maintaininventory of supplies and rotate materials in line with milestone development
- Monitorgrowth and development of each child; regularly communicate progress and concernswith parents and school leadership
- Attendto daily communication using the school's chosen software and on JCC email
- Maintaina continuing dialogue and problem solving with the teaching team
- Respect the privacyof children and families by maintaining strict confidentiality
- Read and maintain children's files and portfolios including work samples, anecdotal notes and other documentation.
- Provide a cheerful, nurturing, healthy, safe and clean classroom environment.
- Maintain attendance and injury records.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of equipment, materials, and classroom.
- Care for classroom environment and aesthetics, maintain inventory of supplies, and frequent rotation of materials based on children's development and interests.
- Participatein lifelong learning by increasing knowledge and abilities in the field ofearly childhood education through attendance at workshops and courses, readingbooks or articles, and attending pedagogical team meetings
- Worktowards increasing knowledge of Judaism and related topics
- Complete at least 12hours of professional development annually; maintain personal PD records
- Aminimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification preferred.Willingness to obtain, or currently enrolled in CDA program, along with relatedexperience considered
- Previousexperience in a school setting, preferably 3 years or more
- CPRand First Aid certification or willingness to acquire
- Strongcommunication skills: oral, reading, writing
- Abilityto relate to young children and adults
- Workingknowledge of the growth and development of young children and ability toutilize this information in the classroom
- Judaicknowledge or willingness to acquire this knowledge through study
- Occasionallifting and carrying up to 25 pounds
- Reaching,stooping, sitting on the floor and bending
- Spendingtime outdoors throughout the school year (in various weather conditions)
- Workhours: Monday – Friday 10:00am-6:00pm during the school year; occasionaladditional hours for meetings, professional development, and special programs

Compensation: $27,000-$38,500 annually;compensation depends on degree, experience and position; compensation for September– June school year is paid over 12 months
