Full time-Direct hire Controls Engineer is needed for a client local to the Canton, NC area just outside of Beautiful Asheville, NC. Hiring manager is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with expertise with PLC modications, automation/control systems and working with vision systems.

Client is offering a base salary of $95,000- $110,000 + 15% potential bonus, full benefits, 401 K and a tremendous team based culture.

responsibilities:

  • Serve as an expert in making programming modifications/improvements on automated equipment to improve safety, uptime, quality, and increase throughput
  • Work with production supervisors, engineers, maintenance, and process technicians to ensure plant objectives are met relative to automated equipment
  • Troubleshoot and advise maintenance/engineering of repairs on electrical/electronic components, including sensors (photo eyes, prox. switches), variable frequency drives, PLCs, motors and motor controllers, servo motion controllers, vision systems, robots, CNC machines
  • Interpret electrical schematics
  • Interface with IT department regarding machine networking
  • Call equipment and/or parts vendors for support in troubleshooting problems and/or optimizing equipment
  • Coach, train, and mentor team members

The essential functions of this role include:

  • working in a non-temperature controlled environment
  • standing for 4 hours at one time

  • Experience level: Experienced
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Education: Associates
