Project Controls Scheduler – Capital Projects

Our client is seeking a Project Controls Scheduler (Data Management Specialist 3) to support capital projects by developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project schedules. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, construction teams, and contractors to ensure projects are executed safely, on time, and within scope.
The position requires strong Primavera P6 expertise, deep understanding of construction sequencing, and the ability to communicate schedule risks and mitigation strategies clearly.

Contract Duration: 7 months | W2Work Model: Hybrid (4 days onsite, Friday remote)
Please Note: Candidates must currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance (typically 45–60 minutes each way) to support consistent onsite collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain schedule baselines and version control throughout project lifecycle.
- Track progress, evaluate delays, and forecast impacts to project milestones.
- Build and maintain detailed Primavera P6 schedules using established WBS structures.
- Lead the development, baselining, and approval of project schedules for capital projects.
- Perform critical path analysis, identify schedule risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Review contractor schedule submittals for logic, sequencing, progress accuracy, and compliance.
- Communicate schedule status, risks, and recommendations to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Update schedules on a monthly basis during planning phases and weekly during active construction.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure schedule alignment with scope, estimates, and execution plans.
- Produce standard schedule reports, including critical path reports, 2–4 week lookahead schedules, milestone reports and schedule variance reports.
- Ability to analyze delays, evaluate impacts, and develop mitigation plans.
- Experience integrating contractor schedules and enforcing schedule requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, business, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands‑on scheduling experience supporting construction or capital projects.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing for pipeline, compressor, or industrial facility projects.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, project management, and field teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, including building schedules from scratch, baselining, updating, and reporting.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience producing schedule dashboards or reports using Excel or BI tools.
- Exposure to structured project controls environments with gated project processes.
- Familiarity with permitting, land, survey, and construction phases of linear or facility projects.
- Prior scheduling experience in the energy, midstream, or heavy industrial construction sectors.
Work Environment:
- Occasional field or site visits may be required depending on project needs.
- Fast‑paced project environment requiring strong coordination with internal teams and external contractors.
