Role Summary
The Head Technical Product Management (AI, ML & Data Sciences) is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing product strategy for software solutions in renewable energy automation, grid systems, and transmission & distribution (T&D) domains.The position requires a combination of deep domain expertise in energy systems and strong technical product management capabilities.
This role will lead a team of Technical Product Managers, drive AI/ML-enabled product innovation, and ensure alignment between customer requirements, market trends, and technology advancements. Additionally, the position plays a key role in supporting technical sales efforts and engaging with stakeholders across engineering, sales, and customer organizations in the U.S. market.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for T&D and renewable energy software solutionsLead, mentor, and scale a team of Technical Product Managers across multiple product lines
Drive development of AI/ML-enabled features within energy and utility platforms
Collaborate with engineering, data science, and delivery teams to ensure timely product execution
Engage with utilities, regulators, and industry stakeholders to gather requirements and validate product direction
Support technical pre-sales activities including RFPs, solution presentations, and customer demonstrations
Align product strategy with regulatory standards, cybersecurity requirements, and grid modernization trends
Monitor product performance metrics and optimize pricing, licensing, and monetization strategies
Core Requirements
Minimum 15+ years of experience in Technical Product ManagementProven experience in the energy, utilities, or power systems domain
Hands-on exposure to T&D automation, SCADA, grid systems, or renewable control platforms
Demonstrated leadership experience managing product teams and cross-functional stakeholders
Experience delivering enterprise-scale software platforms
Exposure to AI/ML-driven product strategy and implementation (non-development role)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Technical & Functional Expectations
Product Strategy & RoadmapAbility to define long-term product vision aligned with market and regulatory requirements
Experience managing complex product portfolios in industrial or energy domains
Energy & Utility Domain ExpertiseStrong understanding of grid operations, renewable energy systems, and T&D automation
Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC 61850, CIM, IEEE 2030.5, OpenFMB, and NERC CIP
AI/ML & Technology IntegrationExperience integrating AI/ML capabilities into enterprise or industrial software platforms
Understanding of cloud platforms, edge computing, and modern software architectures
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Proven ability to lead and scale high-performing product teams
Strong collaboration with engineering, sales, and customer success teams
Technical Sales Support
Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including RFPs and customer engagements
Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value propositions
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Masters degree in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldExperience in North American energy or utilities market
Background in industrial automation, smart infrastructure, or energy technology platforms
Prior experience in customer-facing or technical consulting roles
Exposure to renewable energy management systems or hybrid energy platforms
