Travel Nurse Job Details

  • Position: Travel Labor & Delivery Nurse / L&D RN (LDRP unit)

  • Setting: LDRP Unit (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
  • Charting: Epic (experience preferred)
  • Float Requirement: May float to affiliate hospitals nearby (vehicle required)
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required

  • Scrub Color: Any color (provided for OR, Critical Care, ED, Maternal Child)
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of LDRP / Labor & Delivery experience (2 years preferred)
  • Active Oregon RN license (can submit with license pending) — ideal for nurses searching "Oregon RN jobs"
  • Current BLS, FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring), and NRP certifications required
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record preferred
  • Ability to float between units and affiliate facilities as needed
  • Must have a vehicle for assignment (float to affiliate hospitals)
  • Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
L&D Nurse Responsibilities (Labor & Delivery / Obstetrics Nurse)
  • Provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care for laboring patients, maintaining AWHONN standards and 1:1 active labor and 1:3 postpartum ratios
  • Perform specialized obstetrical procedures including epidural anesthesia support, magnesium sulfate therapy, NSTs, Pitocin administration, and sterile vaginal exams
  • Triage obstetrical patients and manage external fetal monitoring; recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Conduct maternal assessments including reflex checks, edema assessment, and clonus evaluations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: obstetrics, neonatal, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
  • Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed to support patient care and cover LDRP/obstetrics needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Epic to support quality patient care and compliance
