Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient Hospital (Contract)

Location: Olympia, WA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Evening/Night Shift

Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications for inpatient use.
  • Process medication orders using EPIC EMR.
  • Prepare, package, and label medications accurately.
  • Maintain medication inventory and pharmacy supplies.
  • Support sterile and non-sterile compounding activities.
  • Deliver medications to nursing units in a timely manner.
  • Perform medication cart fills and restock automated dispensing systems.
  • Follow hospital policies, safety regulations, and pharmacy standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized pharmacy work areas.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare staff.
  • Participate in quality assurance and medication safety initiatives.
  • Support daily pharmacy workflow during evening/night shift coverage.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient hospital pharmacy technician experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Ability to work evening/night shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy workflows and medication safety standards.

Required Certification:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) – Required
