NC Certified Peer Support Specialist

Imperial Health Services LLC is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) to provide recovery-focused support services to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. The CPSS will utilize their lived experience to promote hope, self-advocacy, independence, and community integration while supporting individuals in achieving their person-centered goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. ) Provide peer support services in community, office, and home-based settings.
  2. ) Assist individuals with developing coping skills, socialization skills, communication skills, and independent living skills.
  3. ) Support individuals with accessing community resources, employment opportunities, housing resources, transportation, and healthcare appointments.
  4. ) Encourage recovery-oriented thinking, self-advocacy, and wellness planning.
  5. ) Assist individuals with goal-setting, problem-solving, and emotional support through shared lived experiences.
  6. ) Provide psychoeducation and skill-building related to activities of daily living (ADLs), budgeting, organization, and stress management.
  7. ) Complete accurate and timely documentation in the agencys electronic health record system.
  8. ) Participate in supervision, staff meetings, trainings, and treatment team meetings as required.
  9. ) Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, Medicaid guidelines, and agency policies and procedures.
  10. ) Provide support during crises and assist with linkage to appropriate services and supports.
Qualifications
  1. ) Must possess an active North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification.
  2. ) High school diploma or GED required.
  3. ) Must have lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery.
  4. ) Ability to engage and build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  5. ) Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  6. ) Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic documentation.
  7. ) Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance required.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. ) Experience working in behavioral health, substance use, or community support settings preferred.
  2. ) Knowledge of recovery-oriented and person-centered practices preferred.
  3. ) Certified in North Carolina

Services may be provided in office settings, homes, shelters, hospitals, and community-based locations throughout the surrounding areas.
