Job Details- Position: Travel Respiratory Therapist / Hospital Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 11, 2026 (or ASAP)
- Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30), 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,760 – $1,890
- Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit (acute care / critical care)
- Patient Population: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatrics
- Location: La Plata, MD 20646 — Maryland respiratory therapist job near Washington, D.C.
- Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience (hospital/acute care preferred)
- Active Maryland or Compact Respiratory Care Practitioner License required
- CRT or RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred)
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- CPI certification (The Calm Every Storm online version accepted)
- Comfortable providing care across all age groups and floating within the hospital as needed
- Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
- Two satisfactory professional references (one supervisor/manager, one charge RN)
- Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to neonates, pediatrics, adult, and geriatric patients as a hospital respiratory therapist
- Perform respiratory assessments, ventilator management, ABG draws, and airway management
- Administer and monitor aerosol therapy, CPAP/BiPAP, and other advanced respiratory modalities
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, neonatal respiratory support, and emergency interventions
- Participate in rapid response and code situations and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Float within specialties as needed to support patient care across the hospital
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all respiratory care activities and treatment plans
