About Our Client
We are seeking a highly experienced Transmission Line Engineer with a focus on Extra High Voltage (EHV) / Ultra High Voltage (UHV) systems, specifically 765kV transmission line projects. This role will lead the engineering, design, and execution of large-scale transmission infrastructure critical to grid reliability and expansion.
Job Description- Lead the engineering and design of 765kV transmission lines, including greenfield and upgrade projects
- Develop and review:
- Line routing, profiles, and alignments
- Sag & tension modeling for extreme loading conditions
- Structure spotting and optimization for long spans and heavy conductors
- Structure loading trees and framing requirements
- Perform advanced design using:
- PLS-CADD (required)
- PLS-POLE / TOWER for structural analysis
- Coordinate with:
- Geotechnical teams for foundation design (deep foundations, caissons, drilled shafts)
- Environmental and permitting teams
- Ensure compliance with NESC, ASCE 7, IEEE, and utility-specific standards
- Conduct QA/QC reviews and serve as Engineer of Record when applicable
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering staff
- Support client engagement, technical presentations, and proposal efforts

The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Transmission Line Engineer - 765kV (EHV/UHV) should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 8-15+ years of transmission line engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience with 345kV-765kV transmission line design
- Advanced proficiency in PLS-CADD (required)
- Strong expertise in:
- Long-span design and high-tension conductor systems
- Structural loading and reliability considerations for EHV lines
- Clearance requirements and insulation coordination
- Experience working with major utilities or EPC firms
- Competitive hourly pay ranging from $95 to $115 USD.
- Direct experience as Engineer of Record on 500kV or 765kV projects
- Experience with bundle conductors, high-temperature low-sag (HTLS) conductors, and advanced materials
- Knowledge of grid expansion, renewable interconnections, or HVDC interfaces
- Experience in storm hardening and resiliency design
- Leadership experience managing teams or large-scale projects
