Position Location This position will be located onsite in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
Job Overview Seeking a Secretary II for our military client working within the Mail Room center office performing all Command mail-handling duties incorporating the Hampton Roads area.If you can work under limited supervision while demonstrating strong customer service, professional oral and written communication, organizational skills, attentiveness to detail, compliance with policies and procedures, and the ability to accomplish the below responsibilities successfully, then you may be the perfect candidate for this position.
Wage: $20-25/hour based on experience.Responsibilities Essential Job Duties:
- Accept, sort, manifest, and dispatch all types of incoming mail
- Maintain accountability logs for all packages and items picked up and distributed
- Apply postage to parcels using command-leased postage meter equipment or other Government provided postage methods
- Complete and submit mail volume usage Administrative Reports (CDRL A007) in accordance with contract requirements
- Maintain postal records, operating plans, mailroom supplies, and adequate stock of postage
- Maintain mail management certification as prescribed by the Command Official Mail Manager (OMM)
- Provide a vehicle for delivery of mail as required
- Accept deliveries from USPS, Federal Express, UPS, and other commercial vendors
- Sort and deliver incoming mail and packages to offices
- Staff the mailroom consecutively from 0700-1530 on business days
- Ensure mail and packages are picked up and delivered within one (1) business day
- Deliver mail immediately upon receipt
- Perform services in accordance with OPNAVINST 5218.7D Navy Official Mail Management Program
- Maintain required accountability logs and postal records
- Submit CDRL A007 Administrative Reports as required, within three (3) business days after initial request Job Requirements Mandatory:
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Strong time management skills
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Strong team player
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Effective in organizing and maintaining files and databases in a confidential manner
- Abiility to successfully pass any employment background check and/or drug testing required on the contract Preferred:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience: Experience consistent with SCA 01312
