About Our Client

We're partnering with a growing engineering firm supporting large-scale utility and renewable energy projects across the Pacific Northwest. Due to an expanding backlog of transmission upgrades, reconductoring programs, and new line builds, they are adding a Transmission Line Engineer focused strictly on technical design execution. This is a non-client facing role, ideal for engineers who prefer to stay hands-on in design rather than interfacing with clients or managing projects.

You'll work within a highly technical team delivering HV/EHV transmission line designs ranging from 69kV to 500kV+, supporting critical grid expansion and reliability initiatives.

Job Description
  • Perform detailed design of overhead transmission lines (HV/EHV)
  • Execute structure spotting, line routing, and profile development
  • Perform sag & tension calculations and conductor selection
  • Conduct clearance analysis in accordance with NESC requirements
  • Perform structure loading analysis (wind, ice, temperature)
  • Develop and support steel and wood pole structure designs
  • Utilize PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER for modeling and analysis
  • Produce plan & profile drawings, staking sheets, and construction packages
  • Support reconductoring, uprating, and rebuild projects
  • Collaborate internally with structural and drafting teams (no external client interaction)
