Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) with orthopedic and joint replacement experience for a travel assignment in Easton, Maryland. This opportunity is ideal for nurses looking to grow their travel careers, as first-time travelers are welcome with strong Med/Surg and Ortho/Joint experience.

- Schedule: 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Required as scheduled
Unit Information
This position supports a busy Orthopedic/Joint Replacement Unit caring for adult and geriatric patients recovering from orthopedic procedures and joint replacement surgeries. Nurses work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.
Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Perform focused patient assessments and identify care needs.
- Monitor, analyze, and document changes in patient condition.
- Develop and update patient care plans based on assessments and outcomes.
- Administer treatments and interventions according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Educate patients and families regarding care plans and recovery.
- Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and compliant patient care environment.
- Apply clinical judgment and critical thinking to prioritize patient care needs.
- Adhere to all facility, state, federal, and nursing practice standards.
Requirements
Required- Active Maryland RN License
- BLS Certification
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
- Strong orthopedic/joint replacement experience
- Ability to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays
- ACLS Certification
- CPI Certification
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Previous travel experience (not required)
Floating Requirements
Floating may be required:
- Within the specialty
- To other qualified units within scope
- To affiliated facilities as needed
