As an Accounting Clerk your Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Provide essential support to the Representative Payee Accounting Department, including processing vouchers, handling social security mail, and recording entitlement information in the system
• Settle discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
• Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
• Circulate financial information to journals and ledgers - Aid Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
• Overall accounting: help with General Ledger (G/L) account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
• Classify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes
• Contribute to Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
• Assist in the management of the supply room, including distribution of supplies when requested.
• Attend agency in-service meetings and participate in other trainings as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.

The ideal Accounting Clerk candidate will have the following:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles and procedures
• Strong understanding of financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Possess a minimum of one year experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar capacity within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Proven ability in data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
