Schedule: Hybrid (2 days in-office; Wednesdays required, one additional day Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday. Fridays work from home.)Pay Rate: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Manager - Product Integrity & Social Compliance to support a growing product testing and compliance initiative. This role serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, external vendors, testing laboratories, and regulatory agencies to ensure products meet quality, safety, and compliance standards throughout the product lifecycle.The ideal candidate will have experience in product integrity, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, or consumer product testing within the fashion, apparel, jewelry, or consumer goods industries.
This individual must be highly organized, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities while collaborating across departments and external partners.Key ResponsibilitiesCross-Functional Partnership & Compliance Support-Collaborate with Sourcing, Production, Design, Legal, Merchandising, Retail, Wholesale, and Vendor partners to address product compliance and regulatory requirements across all product categories.-Serve as a subject matter resource and consultant to internal teams regarding product integrity, quality assurance, and compliance standards.-Monitor recurring testing and inspection failures, identify trends, and provide actionable data insights to leadership.-Maintain awareness of wholesale customer compliance requirements and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.-Develop and distribute quarterly compliance and testing reports for sourcing teams, vendors, and agents to support vendor performance assessments.Product Integrity & Program Management-Organize, maintain, and manage Product Integrity and Quality Assurance records, documentation, and reporting.-Support departmental initiatives and special projects as assigned.-Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of product testing programs and compliance processes.Vendor Management & Product Testing-Oversee product testing programs related to product safety, quality, performance, and regulatory compliance.-Ensure appropriate quality standards are maintained across all product categories.-Educate and onboard new vendors regarding quality assurance, product integrity, regulatory compliance requirements, and company policies.-Respond to vendor inquiries regarding inspections, testing protocols, and compliance requirements.-Verify that testing is conducted according to care labeling requirements, Restricted Substance Lists (RSL), quality standards, and performance expectations.-Analyze failed test results, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions and solutions.Laboratory Management-Partner with third-party testing laboratories to ensure testing is conducted according to approved methodologies, protocols, and reporting standards.-Monitor laboratory performance, turnaround times, and compliance with testing requirements.Regulatory Compliance-Stay informed of evolving state, federal, and international product regulations.-Provide regulatory guidance and support to internal business partners.-Develop foundational technical knowledge of product components, materials, trims, fiber content, care labeling, testing requirements, and related compliance standards.-Support compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.QualificationsRequired Experience-Bachelor's Degree or Higher in a related field-3-5 years of experience in Product Integrity, Quality Assurance, Product Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, or a related field.-Experience within the fashion, apparel, jewelry, consumer products, or related industries preferred.-Working knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes and procedures.-Familiarity with consumer product testing and regulatory requirements.Preferred Experience-Experience working directly with product testing laboratories.-Exposure to international markets or European Union compliance requirements.-Experience reviewing and interpreting product testing reports.Regulatory KnowledgeKnowledge of applicable consumer product regulations and standards, including:-CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission)-CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act)-CPSA (Consumer Product Safety Act)-FTC labeling requirements-California Proposition 65-REACH and other global compliance standardsTechnical Skills-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.-Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.-Experience compiling reports, analyzing data, and presenting findings.Core Competencies-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.-Excellent project management and organizational skills.-Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing deadlines.-Strong written and verbal communication skills.-Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.-Approachable and professional communication style.-Positive team player who effectively represents the organization with external partners.-Demonstrated interest in product testing, sustainability, social compliance, and consumer product safety.Why Join Us?This role offers the opportunity to contribute to an expanding product testing and compliance initiative while partnering with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.You will play a critical role in protecting brand integrity and supporting continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
