Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience for an acute care cardiac cath lab setting, requiring ARRT, RCIS, or CT certification plus ACLS and BLS.
Details- Acute care hospital cardiac cath lab setting with 3 suites: two diagnostic suites and one hybrid OR suite (primarily used for TAVRs)
- Patient population includes CAD, all forms of shock, advanced heart failure, pre/post cardiac transplant, mechanical support needs, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and emergent pacers
- Average caseload of 10–15 cases per day
- Cath lab handles its own cases; IR and EP are separate departments with the exception of emergent temporary pacers
- Equipment includes GE, AGFA with IVUS (log-in, uploading, and reviewing images), and Merge
- EMR: Epic
- 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, with flexibility to 3x12-hour shifts if needed
- 1 weekday call per week and 1 full weekend call every 4th–6th weekend depending on unit needs
- Call hours are 6:00 PM – 7:30 AM; 30-minute call response time required
- No floating requirements — candidates remain in the cath lab only
- Holiday coverage is negotiable based on unit needs
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
- ARRT, RCIS, or CT certification required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Proficiency with IVUS equipment including log-in, image uploading, and review
- Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures and case-specific equipment management
- License required if applicable
- Responsibilities include operation of X-ray equipment during procedures, sterile preparation and procedure table setup, and case-specific equipment management
- Facility is open to candidates transitioning from IR tech or procedure tech backgrounds who are interested in moving into cath lab
- OR scrubs are provided
- Orientation is 1 week, with the option to extend to 2 weeks upon request
- Lab manager and charge nurse are available 5 days a week, with on-call availability for weekend issues
- Self-scheduling is available
