- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice required)
- BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
- Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) setting
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient education skills
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered medical-surgical nursing care for assigned patients
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care focused on positive outcomes
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching beginning at admission
- Communicate changes in patient status to providers to ensure continuity and safety
- Supervise and direct ancillary nursing personnel and support staff as needed
- Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards
- Contribute to team building, unit efficiency, and a positive work environment
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education relevant to Med/Surg practice
