Adecco is hiring SMT Machine Operators to work with our client located in Windsor, CT. These are long term opportunities with potential for temp to hire. Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator sets up, operates, and maintains automated machinery to place electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). They ensure high-quality, efficient production by loading components, monitoring machine performance, performing inspections, and conducting routine troubleshooting, often requiring specialized training and keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate SMT pick-and-place machines, printers, and reflow ovens according to production schedules.
- Component Loading:
- Quality Inspection: Inspect completed PCBs for defects (e.g., misaligned parts, solder bridges) using microscopes or Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) tools.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform preventative maintenance (cleaning nozzles, calibration) and troubleshoot minor machine errors.
- Documentation: Maintain production logs, including machine settings, output quantities, and defect reports.
- Education: High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Experience: Previous manufacturing or electronics assembly experience (specifically SMT).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating automated machinery and familiarity with electronic components.
- Abilities: Excellent manual dexterity and sharp eyesight.
- Certification: IPC-A-610 or IPC J-STD-001 certifications are often preferred.
- Pick-and-place machines
- Screen printers and reflow ovens.
- AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems.
- Microscopes and hand-soldering tools.
Available paid leave may include Sick Leave, where required by Federal, State, or local law, and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.
Pay Details: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour
