- Unit: 7A Medical Unit (Medical-Surgical)
- Duration: 8 weeks (with potential for extension)
- Start Date: May 18, 2026
- Shifts: 4x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 48 hours/week (night shift nursing)
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
- Associate’s degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience (medical-surgical nursing); 5 years preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required (travel nurse / travel RN)
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Provide direct patient care as a Med/Surg RN and evaluate outcomes, adjusting care plans as needed
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and timely re-assessments
- Deliver individualized, age-specific medical-surgical care including hemodynamic monitoring and physiologic support
- Administer medications, IV therapy, transfusion therapy, and specialized IV drips per policy
- Manage cardiac monitoring/intervention, sedation, pain management, and chest tube care
- Provide pre- and post-cardiac cath care, TPN/PPN, and central line access management
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation in the patient medical record
- Act as a patient advocate, respecting patient and family needs, privacy, and confidentiality
- Develop and implement teaching plans for patients and families (patient education)
- Supervise and allocate tasks to other healthcare staff and collaborate with interdisciplinary team
- Assist physicians with procedures and respond promptly to changes in patient workload or condition
- Participate in performance improvement activities and serve as a preceptor/mentor for new staff
- Ensure proper functioning of patient care equipment and maintain adequate supplies
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and personnel policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
