Travel L&D Nurse Job Details- Location: Seattle, WA 98122 (Seattle nursing jobs, Seattle L&D RN)
- Contract Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
- Setting: High-volume Labor & Delivery Unit — 31 beds, 4 ORs, ~500–600 deliveries/month
- Shift: 3 x 12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:30); every other weekend & holidays as needed (Night Shift L&D)
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 4/27/2026 – End: 7/27/2026)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
- Hours per Week: 36
- Floating: Required to Postpartum/Antepartum and may float to sister facilities
- Minimum 3–5 years recent experience in high-acuity, high-volume Labor & Delivery or OB; 5+ years preferred for high-risk cases (Perinatal/OB nurse)
- Travel RN experience required — unit does not accept first-time travelers
- Current and valid RN license (compact license accepted)
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
- Proficient with Epic electronic health record and electronic fetal monitoring documentation
- Must provide supervisory references, proof of certifications, and current Nursys verification
- Must pass clinical review; ability to circulate and provide newborn care (eyes, Vitamin K, IM injections, newborn assessments) — hard stop requirement
- Provide expert, evidence-based nursing care to laboring and high-risk OB patients in a fast-paced L&D unit
- Serve as Baby Nurse during delivery and deliver comprehensive newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Circulate for C-sections, assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, and support emergency OB interventions
- Administer medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate according to protocols
- Perform newborn assessments and immediate newborn care (eyes, Vitamin K, thermoregulation, APGAR, documentation)
- Float to Postpartum/Antepartum units and to sister facilities as needed (flexible OB nurse duties)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: midwifery, obstetricians, anesthesia, recovery services, and community care clinics
- Use EPIC for charting, electronic fetal monitoring, and handoff documentation
- Maintain compliance with AWHONN staffing guidelines, hospital protocols, and unit-specific policies
