Project Manager III - IT
Kforce has a client seeking an Engineering Project Manager in Franklin, TN to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex technology initiatives across engineering, product, and business teams. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive predictable execution, ensure alignment with business priorities, and support the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities:Project Planning & Delivery:
- Manage end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives from intake through release
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, dependencies, and milestones
- Ensure delivery aligns with scope, schedule, and quality expectations
- Identify risks, issues, and dependencies and drive mitigation and resolution
- Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and QA teams
- Ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables across stakeholders
- Support Agile/Scrum practices in partnership with engineering and product teams
- Facilitate key ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of work within project management tools
- Provide clear and consistent status updates to stakeholders and leadership
- Communicate risks, progress, and delivery impacts effectively
- Support release readiness and governance processes
- Track project timelines, capacity, and resource needs
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and change management processes
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of project or program management experience in a technology environment
- Experience managing software or platform delivery across engineering teams
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, SharePoint, PPM tools)
- Ability to manage competing priorities and complex dependencies
- Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Familiarity with modern software delivery practices
- Project Management certifications (PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or similar)
- Experience working with distributed or global teams
