Senior Project Manager - Commercial Utilities

Job Description:

Dewberry’s growing Commercial Utilities – Energy/Renewables Group is looking for a Senior Project Manager to play a key role in delivering complex, high‑impact infrastructure projects. You’ll work alongside multidisciplinary teams to provide full‑service project consulting for utility, energy, and renewables clients across the region.

In this role, you’ll lead project strategy from pursuit through delivery, guide technical quality, manage project financials, and mentor developing professionals. You’ll have opportunities to collaborate across Dewberry offices, expand client relationships, and influence the growth of a thriving practice.

Travel to other offices, client locations, agencies, and project sites will be part of the role.

Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do
  • Lead projects and client relationships for utility, energy, and renewables programs
  • Shape business development efforts, including proposals and client pursuits
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants from planning through construction
  • Oversee budgets, invoicing, and financial performance
  • Provide technical leadership and conduct engineering/design quality reviews
  • Mentor and develop junior staff
  • Collaborate with teams across Dewberry offices

Required Skills & Required Experience:

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related field
  • MBA is a plus
  • 10+ years of experience managing commercial utility, energy, or renewables projects
  • Professional licensure in NY or NJ (or ability to obtain within 18 months)
  • Experience with planning, design, permitting, and construction administration
  • Familiarity working with state and local agencies on approvals and permits
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A clean driving record is required.

Salary Range:

The projected range for this position is $195,000 - $215,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
