Our client is a nonprofit organization with a great mission! They are seeking a proactive, self-sufficient Human Resources Specialist to provide critical foundational support to their global HR and corporate operations teams. In this role, you will act as the primary engine for our internal HR helpdesk, while seamlessly bridging HR administration, procurement, and vendor finance.
Comprehensive training will be provided; however, success in this role requires a high degree of independence, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to solve problems autonomously by leveraging internal AI-driven knowledge bases and shared resources.

This opportunity is temporary-to-permanant and provides a fully hybrid schedule (3 days in office a week located in Washington, DC). If this sounds like a fit for you, please apply here.

Responsibilities

HR Helpdesk & Employee Support
  • Front-Line Support: Manage the HR internal helpdesk, serving as the primary point of contact for staff inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, and leave administration.
  • Triage & Resolution: Efficiently resolve routine inquiries, escalating complex employee relations or policy matters to senior HR leadership when necessary.
  • Knowledge Utilization: Proactively navigate and master internal shared sites, utilizing AI agents and digital directories to independently source answers and guide staff.
Procurement, Vendor, & Financial Coordination
  • Vendor Management: Act as the administrative liaison for HR and operational vendors, ensuring contract compliance and seamless service delivery.
  • Purchase Order Management: Support the department by generating, tracking, and maintaining purchase orders through the internal procurement lifecycle.
  • Financial Integration: Collaborate closely with the finance team to process, review, and reconcile invoices related to HR vendors and global procurement initiatives.
Operational Independence & Growth
  • Continuous Learning: Demonstrate a high level of professional agility by actively absorbing training and independently expanding your knowledge of global HR best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline internal helpdesk response times and optimize administrative workflows.
