Natural Application Support

What are we looking for:
- We are looking for ADABAS / Natural Application Support resources with one of State Health and Human Services organization Mainly ADABAS / Natural shop. This is primarily an Application Support / Maintenance + Enhancement role for a legacy mainframe environment, not a pure DBA role.
- Developers are needed to support their SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) programs. The core eligibility system for SNAP and TANF, known as CHIP, is a mainframe-based solution.
- Need someone who can support, troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance an existing government welfare eligibility system built on ADABAS/Natural. Strong experience with Natural programming, ADABAS, Mainframe support, JCL, CICS, and production/application maintenance is highly preferred. COBOL exposure is a plus.

Major responsibilities:
- Interact with other Mainframe programmers and technical leads to understand subsystem and component specifications and recommend changes to facilitate efficient and effective development.
- Design and document subsystems and system components consisting of several components working together to execute an encapsulated function of the larger system.
- Determine and communicate the implications of system-level decisions on subsystems and components and help determine how best to mitigate or take advantage of these implications.
- Determine and communicate the requirements and capabilities of components within the context of the larger system, project, and team.
- Participate in efforts to share technology, functional knowledge and expertise within the organization; mentor junior and aspiring software development engineers.
- Perform tasks efficiently and work together with team to ensure project success.
