Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Inpatient Rehab position in Macon, GA, requiring at least 2 years of inpatient rehab or med/surg experience and an active GA or compact RN license.
Details- 58-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, with a 25-bed unit census of 20–25 patients
- Patient population includes neuro, TBI, spinal cord injury, CVA, aneurysm, post-craniotomy, brain bleeds, and patients with PEG tubes, tracheostomies, braces, and splints
- Patient ratio of 1:5–7 RN/LPN, with 1–3 CNAs per shift
- No IV drips required
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Philips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Dynamap portable monitors, bladder scanners, and suction machines
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
- 6-week rotating schedule with approximately 5–6 weekend shifts per schedule cycle
- Floating between Rehab Units 1 and 2
- No on-call requirements
- Active RN license in Georgia (GA) or a compact license accepted
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient rehab or med/surg experience; inpatient rehab knowledge required
- Proficiency in wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, peripheral IV starts/maintenance, ostomy care, IV antibiotics, PEG tube maintenance, tube feeds, established trach care, and management of braces/splints
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Support staff includes CNAs, a unit secretary, charge RN, phlebotomy team, RT available 24/7, and a hospitalist during the day with on-call coverage at night
- Orientation consists of 1 day of facility orientation with educational modules, followed by 2 days of departmental orientation
- Holiday coverage required: one shift each for Thanksgiving Day or the day after, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve or New Year's Day
- RTO requests must be approved by the unit manager
- RN scrub color: Navy
- Free on-site parking available
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
