Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract | Upper Marlboro, MD (Night Shift)

Travel Labor & Delivery RN – 13-week contract in Upper Marlboro, MD. Night shift travel nursing job for experienced L&D nurses with NRP, BLS, and STABLE required.   • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,070 - $2,180
  • Location: Upper Marlboro, MD 20774 (Prince George's County; Washington, D.C. area)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: May 18, 2026
  • Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:30 - 08:00)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling; every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
  • Floating: Required within specialty

Job Requirements (Qualifications)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (L&D nurse / OB RN)
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required
  • BLS (AHA), NRP (AAP or NRP), and STABLE certifications required
  • Most units require CPI certification as part of compliance. The Calm Every Storm online version is currently the only acceptable online vendor.
  • Experience with Epic electronic charting system preferred
  • Charge RN, community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Comfortable floating within hospital specialty as needed
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse requirement)
  • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
  • References: 2 satisfactory professional references from most recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN acceptable)
Core Responsibilities (Labor & Delivery RN / L&D Nurse)
  • Provide comprehensive maternal and neonatal care to laboring patients, neonates, infants, and adults
  • Triage obstetrical patients and perform sterile vaginal exams
  • Assist with and circulate for vaginal deliveries and C-sections; recover C-section patients
  • Administer blood and blood products, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and patient pain management
  • Start and maintain IVs, manage central lines (CVC/PICC), and use infusion pumps/IV monitoring
  • Utilize external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) and PCA (IV); respond to fetal heart concerns
  • Perform neonatal resuscitation as needed (NRP-trained clinicians preferred)
  • Implement isolation precautions and appropriate PPE; collaborate with infection control
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services to coordinate care
  • Float within specialty as required to support patient care and staffing needs
