Project Engineer (Mechanical)

The Project Engineer is responsible for the management of capital projects and providing engineering and equipment support to the manufacturing facility. This role involves developing projects from initial conception through closure, ensuring that goals, scopes, and workflows are met according to professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred (with 3+ years of related experience).
  • Project Management: Experience with full life cycle management of capital projects covering manufacturing buildings and equipment.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge and experience with industrial HVAC, boilers, compressors, and chillers.
  • Maintenance Skills: Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and working knowledge of Maintenance Software are preferred.
  • Soft Skills: strong problem-solving ability, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a physically challenging manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects, including initiation, planning, finalizing deliverables, and monitoring outcomes after completion.
  • Technical Oversight: Review project plans and blueprints for accuracy, ensuring timelines are met and cost estimates remain within budget.
  • Facility Support: Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of plant equipment, specifically HVAC systems, boilers, and compressors, to ensure efficient operation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to plant processes to minimize machine downtime and improve overall uptime.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain the facility in accordance with FDA, GMP, and SOP regulations, while ensuring all EHS requirements are met.
  • Collaboration: Work directly with department supervisors and train plant personnel in safety and quality control procedures
