Campus Receptionist

Primary Purpose:

The receptionist is responsible for greeting and directing visitors, is the initial contact for persons entering the office, serves as the primary phone operator for the school, and provides general office duties.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred

Proficient typing and word processing skills
Working knowledge of office equipment such as copiers, scanners, fax, and computers
Knowledge of multi-line phone system
Excellent interpersonal skills in order to insure positive relations with all patrons
Ability to work in a multi-task environment

High degree of ethical behavior and confidentiality

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Prepare written correspondence, forms, and reports using personal computer.
Maintain a log of visitors to the school.
Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed.
Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
Maintain confidentiality.

Operate office equipment.

Other Duties as Assigned:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Prolonged use of computer. Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.

Occasional light lifting and carrying.
