Overview
We are seeking a skilled ICU RN / Critical Care RN for a 13-week travel nurse assignment in Ashtabula, Ohio. This travel contract offers hands-on critical care experience in a community hospital ICU, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and the chance to work in a supportive environment near Lake Erie.Ideal candidates have recent ICU experience, Epic charting skills, and required certifications.
Job Details- Position: ICU Registered Nurse (ICU RN, Critical Care RN, Travel RN)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
- Location: Ashtabula, Ohio (44004) — Ohio travel nurse opportunity
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 26, 2026 – August 25, 2026)
- Shift: Day shift; 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: ICU / Adult ICU in a community hospital
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holidays required
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Minimum 18 months of recent ICU (critical care) experience — experience with adult and geriatric patients preferred
- Current Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license in hand (travel nurse applicants welcome)
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required (must obtain prior to start)
- Epic electronic medical record experience required
- Previous charge nurse or leadership experience in ICU required
- Ability and willingness to float to Med/Surg units as needed
- Two supervisory references within the ICU specialty required
- Note: Nurses are currently exempt from the nicotine-free facility requirement. A negative nicotine (Cotinine) drug screen is not required for nurses at this time.
- Facility is 100% tobacco-free
- Deliver high-quality critical care to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU (ventilator-dependent, hemodynamically unstable)
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, ventilators, and continuous IV sedation
- Interpret cardiac monitoring and manage dysrhythmias; participate in rapid response and code situations
- Monitor and manage pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) lines if applicable
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Case Management, and Physicians
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic and ensure compliance with unit protocols
- Float to Med/Surg units as needed based on census and patient acuity
- Support patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
