Telecommunications Manager 2 (26R0016909)
I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
- Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms
- Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability
- Serve as escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues
- Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security-focused functions
- Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including:
SD-WAN implementation and optimization
Network monitoring and observability tools (e.g., ThousandEyes, AppDynamics)
Security integrations (e.g., Secure Workload, NGFW, identity services)- Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts
- Ensure compliance with Agency security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives
- Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership
- Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures
- Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience performing supervisory/management work including providing clear direction to subordinates; promoting teamwork and motivating others to accomplish goals.

Hybrid - On Site and Telework: Austin, TX. 78752. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Candidate may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends, evenings and holidays, as requested.Candidate must be able to pass background check.
