About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented professional to join our Huntersville/Mooresville office. This role supports a broad range of HR and administrative functions, including new hire onboarding, compliance documentation, payroll coordination, and employee records management.You will work alongside our existing HR team, including coordination with our Canada-based payroll controller, and will be set up for success with full training. No degree is required, but we are looking for someone who takes accuracy and follow through seriously.
Prior experience in an office, HR, or administrative setting is a plus and will be reflected in your starting pay.
Requirements
What You'll Do
Onboarding and Compliance- Process I-9 employment eligibility verification and complete E-Verify submissions for all new hires
- Support the employee onboarding process, including distributing, collecting, and filing required documentation
- Manage paperwork associated with commercial driver onboarding, including coordination of the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse process and pre-employment drug testing
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and related questions during onboarding and open enrollment periods
- Provide SSN verification support as part of the new hire documentation process
- Maintain personnel files and ensure proper record retention in accordance with company policy
- Track and maintain PTO balances and employee time-off records
- Process employee status changes and support the documentation process for terminations
- Assist with unemployment claims and required state reporting
- Support workers' compensation administration, including claims coordination and documentation
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail, as accuracy with sensitive employee records and compliance documents is critical
- Able to handle confidential employee information with discretion and professionalism
- Prior experience in an office, HR, or administrative role is preferred and will be reflected in starting pay
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a plus
- Valid driver's license required
