- Screen, evaluate, and diagnose patients with speech, language, cognitive, and/or swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapeutic interventions and professional consultations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient recovery and safe discharge planning.
- Document evaluations, progress, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS- Minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
- Frequent exposure to body fluids, particularly oral/respiratory secretions, and potential communicable diseases.
- Fast-paced, high-acuity environment requiring coordination across multiple disciplines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Certification / Licensure:
- Current Hawaiʻi State license as a Speech Language Pathologist (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Current ASHA certification (CCC-SLP).
- Current BLS/HCP CPR certification.
- Completion of a FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow) course. If not completed prior to hire, must be completed within six (6) months of employment.
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in an acute care setting.
- Prior FEES clinical experience
- MBSImP training
- Experience with adult swallowing, communication, and cognitive evaluation and treatment
