Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an OR Float Pool position at a large Level I Trauma academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience with thoracic/vascular specialization and prior travel experience.
Details- Large inpatient and outpatient hospital setting with a 56-bed OR and 5 procedural rooms at a Level I Trauma, 1000+ bed academic medical center
- Assigned to the Thoracic/Vascular OR team within the Float Pool
- Adult patient population only; pediatric OR is a separate facility
- Case types include thoracic/vascular, neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, and lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatobiliary
- 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (specific days vary based on unit need; block scheduling is not available)
- Late stays required based on unit needs
- Floating within the OR department possible, but not between separate facility locations
- Active TN or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required and must be on file at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Thoracic/vascular OR experience required
- Proficiency in endovascular cases required for thoracic/vascular team
- Must be able to both circulate and scrub; scrub experience required
- Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing across a wide range of surgical specialties with primary focus on thoracic/vascular cases
- Level I Trauma center environment with high-acuity, complex surgical cases
- 13-week assignment
