What you can expect:

The PACU is a busy, fast paced recovery department caring for a variety of surgical subspecialties (General, Neuro, Urology, GYN, GynOnc, Ortho, ENT, etc.) We are a 31 bewd unit and also recover patients from Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, Cath lab and Cardiovascular OR.

Our patient populations is over 30% pediatric (young babies to adolescents) both inpatient and outpatient and the other percentage are adults, both inpatient and outpatient. Generally, staffing is one nurse to two patients based on acuity and age.

We hire experienced nurses, and are considered a critical care unit. Our team works together to provide exceptional experiences and care to patients and their families. If you are a caring person who puts patient’s first- this department is for you!

Position FTE: .4 FTE (32 hours per pay period) - Evening Shift. Shifts can start any time from 0900 to 1300 and end as late as 2330, Monday-Friday.

The PACU RN department has a variety of 8, 9, and 10 hour shifts to meet employees FTE requirement. For this position, the worked hours would include shifts ending in the evening no later than 2230, Monday-Friday. The position includes 3-4 call shifts in an 8-week timeframe (either back-up call for the night or evening shift or call to cover the weekends including one summer and one winter holiday.). The response time when on-call is 30 minutes.

Job Description Qualifications
  • Education: Nursing Degree (ADN or BSN)
  • Experience: 5+ years Med Surg required OR 1+ years RN experience in critical care, PACU, or ED required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
  • BLS required- Preferred ACLS and PALS
