HR Generalist
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resource Manager. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, time and vacation tracking, and employment law compliance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilites
Prepare and maintain employment records related to hiring, termination, leaves, and transfers/promotions
Interpret and explain Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations.
Track and maintain attendance reports.
Conducts Safety Committee Meeting and follows-up on action plans.
Hire employees and process on-boarding documents.
Schedule and conduct new employee orientations.
Inform new and internal employees on details such as duties and resposibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, and promotion opportunities.
Address employee relations concerns. Give disciplines when appropriate.
Maintain and update Human Resources documents, such as employee handbook, organizational charts, employee information documents, etc.
Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
Initiation for employee performance reviews: tracking due dates, keeping forms up to date, and ensure wage and vacation is updated.
Perform job searches for qualified job candidates using sources such as computer databases, networking, job fairs, recruiting firms, or media adverisements.
Interview job applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, and job skills.
Conduct reference or background checks on job applicants.
Maintain knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action guidelines.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employement and benefit laws.
Manage and ensure complaince with legal standards in health care plan, health reimbursement arrangement, IRA plans, Employee Assistance Program, and OSHA Safety
Run Department of Motor Vehicle driving records
Serve as designated company notary.
Investigate and maintains any work comp claims.
Assist with processing weekly payroll.
Other Duties as assigned.
