Safety Manager | East Hanover, NJ

Responsibilities:

As a Safety Manager, you’ll support critical project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and a strong culture of safety is maintained onsite. This role will oversee day-to-day safety operations within an active commercial/life sciences environment while partnering closely with project teams and subcontractors.

HazTek is seeking an experienced Safety Manager in East Hanover, NJ to support operations at a high-profile operational facility. This position is responsible for driving OSHA compliance, conducting site audits, issuing permits, and ensuring subcontractors are executing work safely and in accordance with project requirements.

• Oversee all aspects of project safety ensuring OSHA compliance
• Conduct daily safety meetings, audits, and inspections
• Issue and manage permits related to high-risk work activities
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure compliance with site safety requirements
• Complete accident reports and conduct incident investigations
• Monitor critical risk activities including Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation
• Partner with project management and field leadership to promote proactive safety practices

Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years direct construction safety experience required
• Degree in a safety related field preferred
• OSHA 510 highly preferred
• CHST or CSP preferred
• Advance knowledge of construction safety standards Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills
