IT Network Support Specialist (Infrastructure Support)
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)Pay Rate: $27.00/hour

Position Overview
We are seeking an IT Network Support Specialist to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional with foundational networking experience who is looking to grow into more advanced infrastructure responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Network Monitoring & SupportMonitor and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, and network appliances
Utilize network monitoring tools to ensure system health, uptime, and performance
Support VPN connectivity and assist with secure remote access issues
Maintain network connectivity technologies, including broadband and enterprise circuits
Troubleshooting & Technical SupportDiagnose and resolve network-related incidents and service requests
Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware
Provide technical support for infrastructure issues, escalating complex problems as needed
Infrastructure & DocumentationSupport enterprise cabling and connectivity, including fiber, UTP, and wireless networks
Maintain accurate network documentation and system records
Assist in implementing infrastructure updates and improvements
Project & Vendor CoordinationSupport network-related projects, upgrades, and deployments
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues
Assist in evaluating new tools, technologies, and solutions
Compliance & Continuous ImprovementFollow established IT policies, procedures, and compliance standards
Conduct basic risk assessments prior to system changes
Identify opportunities to improve network performance and reliability
Qualifications
RequiredBachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
2 to 4 years of experience in IT support or networking
Foundational knowledge of: Network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls)
LAN/WAN environments and VPN connectivityNetwork monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
PreferredCompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar certification
Experience supporting enterprise or multi-site environments
Familiarity with network security fundamentals
