Location: 7839 Enterprise Dr. Mentor, OH 44060

Schedule: Full Time | 6:00AM Start Time | M-F, every other Saturday

Job Summary: Responsible for driving 18-foot company box truck or sprinter van for the purpose of delivering and unloading various products to multiple customers daily. Accountable for checking accuracy and inspecting quality of deliveries to insure all customer needs are met and all orders are delivered correctly.
Promptly identify and communicate issues with orders and help resolve problems with fulfilling customer orders. Must adhere to delivery schedule and be professional and courteous while on delivery route and in all customer interactions.

What You’ll Do:

 •  Deliver product within assigned route schedule and time windows. Immediately inform management of any deviations from route
 •  Unload product from company vehicle, by hand or using hand cart/pallet jack, and place delivery in designated customer storage areas. May include transporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions. Handle deliveries with care to insure product is not damaged
 •  Verify delivery of items with customer to obtain proper signatures. Contact management for authorization with invoice discrepancies and communicate all errors/returns
 •  Collect payments, cash or checks, where required, and turn in all funds collected daily
 •  Properly handle all transfer envelops from Cincinnati and Pittsburgh locations
 •  Follow rules set forth by USDOT, and learn to operate the Samsara tablet system. Each driver will be given a tablet to be responsible for daily
 •  Pick up, load and unload damaged goods and customer returns, and complete necessary paperwork (wait time for customer pick-ups limited to 10 minutes – call into office if longer)
 •  Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and EFC policies and procedures
 •  Completely fill out all DVIR reporting in all trucks on a daily basis and turn in appropriately
 •  May be required to perform refueling duties along with checking of DEF and oil levels after each run
 •  Complete DOT logs (electronic or manual, as required), company vehicle maintenance reports, and reconcile with appropriate company representative as required
 •  Report immediately any DOT log problems to logistics manager
 •  Follow EFC preferred work methods at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions
 •  Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including but not limited to hand cart, pallets jack, and personal protective equipment
 •  Maintain sanitary conditions in vehicle and assist with maintaining sanitary conditions in the plant, warehouse and dock areas
 •  Complete associated driver safety testing in a timely manner
 •  Complete all driver return sheets daily for product returns and all required daily route paperwork and US DOT regulations
 •  Must be on time for departures and aware of customer delivery times

What You’ll Need:

 •  Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License or another Class B or C (depending on vehicle driven) with an acceptable driving record
 •  Valid and current USDOT Medical Card
 •  Able to read and communicate in English as it related to the job and safety regulations
 •  Strong customer service skills; courteous in customer interactions
 •  Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
 •  Must have working knowledge of USDOT regulations
 •  Ability to pass a drug test; will be in random drug testing pool
 •  Ability to pass a background check and a license check; preapproval required prior to hire
 •  Must be self-directed, able to work independently
 •  Must have solid judgement – ability to keep self and others safe at all times
 •  Ability to get up and down from a truck and or van effortlessly
 •  Ability to maneuver steps at customer’s establishment
 •  Ability to manage situations calmly should they arise
 •  Participate in warehouse activities on slower days and or seasonal periods

Working Conditions:

 •  Local travel while on delivery route; extended time sitting while driving
 •  Exposure to cold temperatures and the outdoors
 •  Must maintain a professional and neat appearance, wearing company required gear
 •  Must be able to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and on-call

Physical Requirements:

 •  Ability to frequently lift and carry packages weighing up to 50-80 lbs.
 •  Ability to sit and remain alert while driving throughout a shift
 •  Ability to enter and exit the vehicle’s cab many times a day (cab floor level 36 to 66 inches above ground level)
 •  Frequently reach up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart
 •  Constantly bend, twist, climb, squat, crouch and balance while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from the trailer
