Join a supportive stepdown team in vibrant Southwest Michigan and provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced cardiac stepdown unit.

- Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Shifts per Week: 3
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,770 - $1,870
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Charting System: Cerner PowerChart
- Floating: May float to like units or to care for similar patient populations as needed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent stepdown, progressive care, telemetry, or ICU nursing experience
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
- Cerner PowerChart experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced intermediate care environment
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork
- Provide high-quality bedside nursing care to adult and geriatric stepdown patients
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and manage patients with complex medical and surgical needs
- Support patients recovering from CHF, sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, DKA, and post-surgical conditions
- Perform ongoing assessments, medication administration, and care coordination
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, effective patient outcomes
- Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
- Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner PowerChart
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a dynamic stepdown nursing setting
