Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Bloomington, Indiana
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10-Hour Shifts
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a dynamic imaging department in Bloomington, Indiana. This role involves performing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department populations within a collaborative clinical environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical imaging skills, excellent patient care abilities, and experience performing a broad range of nuclear medicine studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to physician orders
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
  • Conduct imaging studies while ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Start IVs as needed for imaging procedures
  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment and PACS systems
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to support patient care
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety, infection control, and departmental protocols
  • Assist with workflow management across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency patient populations
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB Certification required
  • Strong IV start skills required
  • PACS experience required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced imaging environment

Candidates must have experience performing:

  • Cardiac Studies
  • Bone Scans
  • Liver/Spleen Scans
  • Lung Scans
  • Thyroid Studies
  • Tumor Localization Studies
  • Myocardial Imaging

Preferred Procedure Experience

Preferred experience includes:

  • Brain Scans
  • Renal Flow Studies
  • SPECT Imaging
Equipment & Documentation
  • Cerner EMR documentation system
  • Siemens equipment experience preferred
