Job Summary:
Pharmacist Inpatient (Specialty: PHARM IP) in an acute care setting. This role involves ensuring the safe, accurate, and appropriate use of medications by evaluating prescribers' orders for dosing, allergies, and contraindications. The pharmacist will support pharmacy personnel, answer clinical questions, perform pharmacokinetic monitoring, report adverse drug events, and provide medication counseling to patients and their families.This position requires active participation in hospital and pharmacy missions and engagement in educational activities.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift; 8 hours per day; minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, including hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: PGY 1 or PGY 2 pharmacy residency preferred. Experience with CADD pump programming, Pyxis functions, medication safety reporting systems, and electronic drug information resources (Up-to-Date, Neofax).
- Additional Information: The successful candidate will be responsible for pharmacokinetic monitoring, medication safety reporting, and providing medication counseling. The role involves active participation in pharmacy education and collaboration within the healthcare team.
